WELCOME BACK!
When I came through the gates on yesterday, the Marine gate guard peaked in the car and told me to "have a good 1st day of school tomorrow." Was he cracking a joke? Hmmm....
First day back to actual academics at USNA. Not so bad. I think my worst day will be Thursday when I have swimming class. Something I wish that either I had the talent to validate or just didn't have to do altogether. Got almost everything situated in my room. Moved my things from DC to Annapolis this weekend. I am so tired of all of this moving, packing up, unpacking. I have been packing up and unpacking every year since 2001 when this whole journey started. I am desperate to get in one spot and stay there for more than 9 months, especially during the summer months when I am back and forth to the academy for training. The AC year slows that down for a while. I've been up since 0515. I am tired. My stomach aches from the 7 minute ab workout that I did with my squad along with the 3 mile Indian run. It's enough to not only start the day, but to end it also. I just wanted to lay down the rest of the day once it was all over. Oh and next time, exercise leader, please remind us to stretch before hand.
Today starts a day of good study habits hopefully, since I have signed that dotted line. There is not turning back from this point, there is no stopping me now, I'm on the go.
