Time is winding down

My time home is winding down, I leave on Wednesday morning. I was just reading someone else's blog about heading back to their home after traveling for the holidays and they were talking about sleeping in their own bed. I am not really ready to get back to my rack at the academy, but it is good to get back to my car and the way of life that I am used to daily. Not sure if I am really ready to weigh in or take another PRT or start school, but... I would like to see all my classmates again.

Tonight I went to dinner with my family, which was really good. We laughed and talked and reminisced like we usually do. Good to see them again before I head off. I hate when I come home and don't see all of my family. I believe that I am going to try and make it to see them all, but some how I grow shy and want to hide in the house. I am just not up to it all the time. I only went to church once out of the many opportunities that I had to go. I didn't feel up to the attention of it all when I return to church. They like to recognize me and of course I try and speak to everyone, but it really doesn't happen. I try to avoid it all.

No new years resolutions set. I just want to be better, get back in shape, be more productive, grow stronger in Christ, learn to swim, and of course graduate USNA.

Mini Class Reunion

Today, about 10 of my old high school friends got together for lunch at the Lighthouse Seafood Restaurant, which turned out to be a really good time. We all sat around and told old high school stories and reminisced about the old teachers. Our school, Scotlandville Magnet has completely changed. For one, it is currently undergoing remodeling which is a good thing. When I was there 1994-1998, the school was not in the best conditions. Also, due to redistricting and many other school system changes, the school has gone from a magnet/engineering professions school to a local neighborhood school, which is not one of the best neighborhoods. Surprising to hear of some of the changes. But among that, was shocked to hear that 2 of my friends are now new mothers. I forget that I am getting older and not younger. I am really proud to hear of the things that they are doing these days and what other classmates are accomplishing. I am just trying to graduate this May.

New Years Night I went to church to bring in the new year. I almost didn't go, but after my daddy nearly convinced me, I went and really enjoyed the service. I haven't set any new years resolutions, but I expect this to be a great year.
